Seasonal Components

We created new pages and components designed to be reusable for seasonal campaigns such as Christmas, Black Friday, or Valentine's Day.

Planning ahead for Christmas helped us identify opportunities to introduce new, playful elements to improve customer engagement. We also designed multiple paths for users to access our seasonal content, ensuring it wouldn't be missed.

We brainstormed ideas and mapped the user journey to better understand how users would reach these pages.

FAB Button

The FAB Button was developed to promote seasonal campaigns such as Christmas or Valentine's Day.

Since the global navigation isn't sticky, users lose it when scrolling. The FAB Button is sticky at the bottom-left of the screen on Desktop, Tablet, and Mobile. It includes a subtle animation to attract attention.

Clicking the button opens a pop-up with details about the offer, allowing users to follow the link or close the window. Once checked, the button greys out as a visual confirmation. It resets daily for new offers.

Revealing Banner

One of my goals at Debenhams was to bring micro-interactions to an otherwise static site. Initially, I proposed a parallax scrolling banner for special events.

Due to performance limitations, we implemented a revealing banner instead, providing a similar effect without affecting site speed.

The content team was thrilled with this solution, achieving interactive design while maintaining performance.

Advent Calendar

Debenhams is known for its Advent Calendars. We recreated this experience online, revealing a new offer each day until Christmas. Users could interact with the cards, seeing only the revealed products.

This project involved close collaboration with development and content teams and successfully boosted engagement and conversion.
